7 Apps which consume more Mobile data 2019

Seven Apps which consume more Mobile data

Recently using mobile data has very common  in users after the revolution of smartphones, as  cellular companies have come up with most effective data plans in order to comfort their users by giving mobile data plans as per the requirements of their users.

It doesn't matter which so ever data plan you set for your smartphone, you have to manage your data usage plan by yourself, many of us have issues with their data plan that there are so many apps those consume cellular data in large amount as compared to the other apps.

Apps those use most data normally are the apps that you use the most in your daily life. For most of us, these ara FacebookInstagramNetflixSnapchatSpotifyTwitter and YouTube. If you are using any of above mentioned apps in your daily life, you must change these settings to reduce the consumption of how much data these apps use.
On an iPhone, i can be checked by yourself easily that how much data any of your apps uses by going into Settings > Cellular. For every app in the list which is alphabetical, you can see small number mentioned below the title of app that shows how much data this app has used. Scroll down to see when it has started counting the mentioned data usage, which is likely to be when you first activated your smartphone or installed this app. Here you need to look at the bottom of  list where you can tap the Reset Statistics button to start a new count for data usage of this app, which is very useful if you reset the statistics at the beginning of the month. This might help you to check the usage of each app every month.
Also from the same data-usage list, you can turn off cellular access for any app, I can give you better ideas on how data usage can be reduced by yourself. I am using an iPhone to explain  following ideas and tips, in Android phones similar options can be found easily.

1. You need to Stop auto playing videos in your Facebook App
IF you are in habit of checking Facebook every five minutes certainly consumes your data plan, but if you are checking Facebook after every five minutes while letting app auto play videos is worst.
Now You can easily limit auto play videos on Wi-Fi only or disable them on both cellular data and Wi-Fi as well. Here's how its done:
  • Open the Facebook app, tap the button in the lower-right corner with  triple-lines and then tap Settings.
  • Go to Account Settings and then go into Videos and Photos.
  • Tap Autoplay and then here you can choose On Wi-Fi Connections Only or Never Autoplay Videos.

2. Stop auto playing videos on Twitter
  • Open your Twitter app, tap the Me button (lower-right corner).
  • Tap the gear icon of your profile page and go into Settings.
  • Tap Data usage.
  • Tap Video auto play or High-quality video and then you can choose Wi-Fi only or Never
  • If you spend most of your time on Twitter then its auto play videos are required to be set.

3. Stop pre-loading videos and photos on Instagram
Instagram is more than just photos, now it has auto play videos. The app pre-loads all videos so they can start playing as soon as you get them in your feed.
Instagram has setting too that lets you prevent videos from pre-loading when you are using cellular data. This setting will not prevent videos from auto playing, but still it can prevent Instagram from pre-loading videos when you are using cellular data.
Here's where to find it:
  • Open Instagram, go to your profile page and tap settings.
  • Go to Cellular Data Use.
  • Tap to turn on the switch to see Use Less Data.

4. Enable Travel Mode in Snapchat
Like Instagram, Snapchat pre-load Stories and Snaps so that they immediately appear when you check any feed. Problem is pre-loading which is much heavier on your cellular data.
  • You can prevent pre-loading by enabling a semi-hidden feature called Travel Mode. It means that Snaps and Stories will take a bit longer to load, but your data plan will thank you.

  • Open Snapchat app and swipe down to see your profile

  • Tap the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  • Scroll down and open Manage and then turn on Travel Mode.

5. YouTube: Change Wi-Fi-only settings in YouTube
YouTube offers a setting that plays HD video only when you are on Wi-Fi.
  • Open YouTube app, tap account profile button in the upper-right corner and tap the Settings.
  • Tap to turn on switch for Play HD on Wi-Fi only.
  • While in settings, scroll down and tap to turn on switch for Upload over Wi-Fi only if you regularly upload videos.

6. Set video quality in Netflix
As you use Netflix on a device than your phone when you are home while connected to Wi-Fi, but for times when you intend on a cellular connection, you can lower the video quality.
  • Open Netflix app, tap the triple-line button in the top left corner, scroll down and select App Settings.
  • Open Cellular Data Usage and toggle off Set Automatically.
  • Select either Low or Medium to watch lower-quality videos when on cellular data.

7. Make albums available offline in Spotify
If you use Spotify as your personal music soundtrack in your daily life, data plan is likely to be consumed earlier. If you have space your phone you can download albums and playlists to avoid streaming on cellular data. When looking into an album or any playlist, just tap the toggle switch for Download in order to add tracks to your smartphone so you don't need to stream them again and again.
Spotify also has a stream quality setting available.
Open Your Library in the bottom-right corner then go to the gear icon in the top-right to open settings and open Streaming Quality. Here four options are in front of you: Automatic, Normal, High and Extreme as well.
